"Space is a variable, not a constant."
DJ Sackmann used that phrase to describe space when I first met him over 5 years ago and it stuck with me.
What he meant by it was that space is always changing. Sometimes we have a lot of space and sometimes we have very little space. Now, can we play in both of those situations?
If we don't have space we need to create some. The most efficient way to create separation is by stopping quickly. We refer to this as a "Speed Stop" or an inside-outside stop. For example, when attacking to the right you would stop left-right.
A jump stop is not wrong, but in this breakdown we are going to talk about the importance of being able to stop 1-2.
